Day 1: Malang - Mt. Pananjakan - Mt. Bromo - Ijen Plateau

At 01.00 am, early morning, you will be picked up at your hotel in Malang. In three hours you will be standing at Mt. Pananjakan, one of the highest view points in the vicinity of Mt. Bromo. But, first a coffee break.
Seeing the sun rise, slowly giving away the secrets of the night, opening a new horizon; a black sea of sand completed with a savanna and in its midst the relatively small crater of Mt. Bromo.
After the sun has risen, get some coffee or tea again if you wish to get a bit warmer. Then you descend into the Sea of Sand. After parking you walk in about 45 minutes to the crater rim of Mt. Bromo.

When we see you back at the Jeep, we will leave to Cemara Lawang village and off to the Ijen Plateau. Since it is a long drive, you can stop anywhere you like to get some rest and stretch your legs. We recommend to have a break at the winding road at Arak-arak Hill. Then, it will be another 1,5 hours drive to Bondowoso city, where you will spend the night. You can relax in your hotel or take a dive in the swimming pool of the hotel.

Note: please inform us if you would like to stay at the coffee plantation at the Ijen Plateau. There are only to 2 basic homestays. In our program we will use Ijen View Hotel in Bondowoso city.

Day 2: Bondowoso - Paltuding - Ijen Crater Lake - Coffee plantation and waterfall Jagir -  Ketapang

After a short nights rest, you will depart at 3 am to Paltuding. This takes about 2 hours driving. From here you start walking to the Ijen crater lake. It will take about 1,5 hours. On your way up you can meet sulfur miners, who carry heavy loads of sulfur in baskets.
Once you experienced the crater lake and walked back to the parking area, you will be waited for by your driver. After a small break with a local snack, we drive in about 1,5 hours - via Licin village - to Ketapang harbor. Here you can take the ferry to Gilimanuk in Bali. On your way to the ferry, you will visit a coffee plantation and Jagir waterfall. Around noon you will arrive in Ketapang.

Note: we can also arrange drop you off in Bali - additional costs involved
