Day 1: Malang - Mt. Pananjakan - Mt. Bromo - Kalibaru

At 01:00 am you will be picked up in your hotel in Malang. In about 2.5 hours we will reach the village Cemara Lawang. Here you will have to change cars to a local jeep to get to Mt. Pananjakan, which is the highest view point over Mt. Bromo and Mt. Semeru. Have some coffee or tea and a snack before the sun rises. After you have observed the sunrise (depending on the weather conditions of course) and the gorgeous panorama of Mt. Bromo and Mt. Semeru, we will continue the journey and cross the 'desert' to reach Mt. Bromo. From the parking lot, it takes only 40 minutes to walk to the 'top' of Mt. Bromo.
Once back at the car, your breakfast will be served in picnic style. Then it is another 5 hours travel to Kalibaru, the plantation area. Just check in into your hotel, and you are free to do whatever you are up to.

Day 2: Kalibaru plantations - Ijen Plateau

After breakfast, it is time to continue. We will go to a plantation where you can see the activities both on the land and in the factories; local people processing coffee, rubber and chocolate (depending on the season). After you have indulged yourselves we continue to Sempol village on the Ijen Plateau in Banyuwangi regency. Sempol village is only 17 km from Ijen crater lake, also called kawah Ijen. Here you can enjoy the rest of your day. You can visit a sulfuric hot spring, a waterfall, the local village, coffee seedlings, etc.

Day 3: Ijen Crater Lake (kawah Ijen) - Ketapang (ferry to Bali)

At 05:00 you depart for a short drive to Paltuding. From Paltuding you will start walking to the kawah Ijen, Ijen crater lake. The just 3 km hike might take about 1.5 hours. On your way to the lake, you will meet a lot of sulfur miners. They carry 70 to 100 kg of sulfur down the slopes after getting it out of the crater and up the rim.
Once you have enjoyed the lake and its surroundings, we drive via Licin to Ketapang where you can take the ferry to Bali. We arrive around noon in Ketapang.
