Adventure: Sukamade turtle beach and climb Ijen & Bromo - 4days / 3nights
At Sukamade turtle beach one can see turtles laying eggs. Mt. Ijen houses the most acidic lake in the world, while Mt. Bromo is Indonesia's most famous active volcano.

Day 1: Bali (hotel or airport) – Gilimanuk – adventure: by 4x4 Jeep to Sukamade
We will pick you up at Bali early in the morning. We go straight to Gilimanuk to catch the ferry to Ketapang. In Ketapang you will meet your driver for the regio Java. After a nice lunch (not included in the tour), you continue to Sukamade turtle beach by 4WD. Before getting there, you will cross the extensive plantations of East Java and the mountain range of the Meru Betiri National Park. In this park you will find the protected Sukamade ‘Turtle Beach’, a wild 3 kilometer sand strip on the Indian Ocean where 5 species of turtles come ashore to lay their eggs.
After you arrived in Sukamade, you will have time to visit the kampong where locals make brown sugar.
Then, in the evening a ranger will guide you to the beach to wait for the turtles to come ashore to lay their eggs. A female turtle lays more than hundred eggs. The turtles usually start to land at 19.30 and return to the sea around midnight.
Day 2: Releasing baby turtles – Sempol at the Ijen Plateau – Coffee plantation
First thing in the morning is to get back to the beach to release baby turtles into the Indian Ocean. Hereafter you will go back to the guest house to have breakfast. On your way out of the National Park, you can visit Green Bay if time is sufficient. In about 3 to 4 hours driving, you will change to a more comfortabel car. You will continue to Sempol village at the Ijen Plateau. Sempol village lies at the coffee plantation. When you arrive before sunset, you can check out the area: sulphuric hot spring, the coffee factory next doors, and a waterfall.
Day 3: Paltuding – Ijen trekking – Cemara Lawang – Mt. Bromo
After a short nights rest, you will depart at 04.00 to Paltuding. It takes about 1 hour. At Paltuding your hike to the Ijen crater lake starts. It will take about 1,5 hours. On your way up you can meet sulfur miners, who carry heavy loads of sulfur in baskets. Afterwards, you will be waited for at the parking area. After a small break with a local snack, we drive in about 6 hours - via the cities Bondowoso and Probolinggo - to Cemara Lawang village. This village has a direct virew over Mt. Bromo and the black Sand Sea that surrounds it. You can check in at your hotel and relax. If on time, you can search for a nice spot to see the sunset.
Day 4: Sunrise view point Mt. Pananjakan – Sand Sea – Mt. Bromo – drop Surabaya
You will get a morning call at 03.00 am and have a cup of coffee or tea before leaving to Mt. Pananjakan. Enjoy the scenery over Mt. Bromo while the sun rises. Then you will descend to the Sea of Sand to see the active volcano Bromo with its crater. After parking you walk in about 45 minutes to the crater rim of Mt. Bromo.
After you visited the active volcano Bromo you get back to Cemara Lawang village to have breakfast. After breakfast you will have to check out. We drop you off in Surabaya.
