After breakfast see a bit of Malang's well known spots; monument Tugu and its park in front of Malang's city hall, kampong Jodipan (kampong warna-warni) and the bird and flower market. Take your time.
Then drive to Singosari temple just an hour from Malang. The nearby Sumberawan temple is also worth a visit before going to Wonosari tea plantation. You can have lunch here as well (not included in the price) or on the way to mount Bromo. You will arrive in the afternoon in Cemara Lawang village. You have some spare time left to explore the Hindu Tengger area; farming, local market, mountaineous landscape and of course you can watch the sunset over mount Bromo.
Day 2: Sunrise at viewpoint Pananjakan - visit active volcano Bromo - via bukit bintang Arak-Arak to Bondowoso city
Morning call at 03.30. Have a cup of coffee or tea before you get into the 4wd Jeep to the viewpoint Pananjakan. It is the highest viewpoint in the area from where you can see mount Bromo and the surroundings slowly showing when the sun is rising.
When ready your trip continues to the marvelous Sand Sea - whispering sand - to see the active volcano Bromo. If you wish to walk in the grey-greyish desert ask the driver to stop.
The Jeep will park near Luhur Poten temple.
Then it is a 45 minutes walk (one way) to the crater rim of mount Bromo. Relax and enjoy the special feeling of being in this landscape of epic proportions only to be found in East Java.
Once back at the Jeep you head back to Cemara Lawang village to have breakfast at your hotel.
Have a short rest before you continue to Bondowoso city, a drive of approximately 5 hours. You can stop anywhere you like to stretch your legs. We recommend to have a break at Bukit Bintang Arak-Arak. Great lush green views at an height of about 350 m.
Spend the night in Bondowoso city. You can relax in your hotel that comes with a swimming pool.
