In this Bromo tour package you will be picked up at your hotel in Malang around midnight. Our route is via Tumpang, the southwestern slope of the caldera of Mt. Bromo. After your arrival at Mt. Pananjakan, local snacks with hot coffee and tea are waiting for you. It will be around 3:30 in the morning. From your early morning drink till the viewpoint it is only a 100 m walk.
Stunning black Sea of Sand and a green contrast; the savanna
After sunrise the black Sand Sea is next. You can have your breakfast just somewhere in this Sea and enjoy stunning views before continuing to the parking area near Poten Luhur temple. From here it is about 45 minutes walking to the crater rim of the active volcano Bromo. Once you reach the "top", you can explore or rest and enjoy the view.
Once back at the car, we continue to the savanna. According to the story, the savanna used to be a large crater lake. It dried up and formed an array of various rocky and sandy textures. The savanna is now vast flat land with bushes and some hills. It is a spectacular view. Depending on the season, it is a very green savanna or a goldish like savanna.
On our way back to Malang we will visit the waterfall Pelangi and Jago temple in Tumpang. Depending on your speed, but on average we are back in Malang around 13:00.
