Activities at the Ijen Plateau and coffee plantation - East Java, Indonesia

Day 1: Bali - ferry to Ketapang - Kalibendo coffee plantation

You will be picked up in Bali early in the morning. You then go straight to Gilimanuk to catch the ferry to Ketapang in Java. It will be around noon when you arrive. Java time is one hour behind Bali time. After a nice lunch (not included in the tour) you continue to the Kalibendo coffee plantation. You have time to see the coffee plantation and the coffee factory. Whether the factory is processing depends on the season.
You will spend the night in Grand Harvest Resort & Villas in Licin village.

Day 2: Ijen crater lake - Cemara Lawang - Bromo area (direct view at Mt. Bromo)

It will be early morning. You will depart around 05.00. Paltuding is the point from where you start your hike to the most acidic lake on earth with it's beautiful blueish colors. It is just 3 kilometers walk, but the hike might take 1.5 hours. While hiking up hill you will meet the sulfur miners who carry their load up to 100 kg down the slopes of Mt. Ijen to the parking area. Take your time at the crater rim.
Once back at the parking lot, enjoy a coffee break with some local snacks. Then, the driver will go straight to your hotel at the Bromo area. Take a rest or explore the surroundings.

Optional tours: Blue fire at the Ijen crater lake. An additional cost is needed for a local guide and gas masks.

Day 3: Sunrise at Mt. Pananjakan or King Kong hill - Mt. Bromo - drop Surabaya

Around 03:00 in the morning your day will start with a hike. In about 1,5 hours you will walk to the highest - and most famous - view point, namely Mt. Pananjakan. If you don't like walking we can arrange a Jeep. At an altitude of 2770 m you can see the sunrise. On clear days, you can also see the highest mountain on Java, Mt. Semeru.
It is up to you whether you would like to walk from Mt. Pananjakan to the crater of Mt. Bromo (approximately 2.5 hours), or whether you prefer a ride by Jeep. If you take a Jeep, you still will have to walk the last 45 minutes to the top.
Once satisfied, you will have breakfast at your hotel. After breakfast you can have a shower and you wil have to check out. You will be driven to Surabaya where you will be dropped at your next destination. Or, if you wish, we can drop you in Malang. In case you would like to go to Yogyakarta by train or back to Bali by flight, please book a ticket after 15.00.
